Contract Specialist Jobs Responsibility:

Contract Specialist Jobs aid in the health and population cluster’s contracting activities by:

  • Coordinating the tendering process, which includes drafting tender documents, facilitating evaluation, and leading negotiation and contract execution, as well as leading the development and implementation of contracting strategies and plans for assigned categories with approximately $15 million to $50 million in annual spending;
  • facilitating the effective implementation and execution of contracts in accordance with internal standards by guiding stakeholders, including administrators and clinicians, through contracting procedures;
  • settling contract-related issues, managing risks, and providing excellent customer service;
  • supplying expertise on all aspects of contracting strategies, strategic contracting initiatives, contract management plans, and the tendering cycle and effectively implementing them;
  • developing robust research-based contracting strategies in conjunction with colleagues in the work area and the value analysis teams;
  • may direct working groups, including stakeholders from the government, through the contract management process.

Contract Specialist Jobs Experience:

  • Five years’ progressive experience working in a large publicly funded organization, preferably in the health sector, providing contract management services in an enterprise-wide supply chain management system, including contracting and strategic tendering with defined methodologies and processes like the category management methodology for contracting:
  • Five years of experience developing, drafting, evaluating, and awarding tenders in a wide range of tendering formats, including RFPs, RECs, RFIs, and RFQs. Additionally, experience managing contracts and utilizing a variety of contracting strategies while ensuring compliance with legislation and trade agreements.
  • three years of experience exerting influence over senior management and other key stakeholders, including senior clinicians.
  • three years of experience working with ERP systems’ supply management modules and/or contract management software applications for contracting and procurement (such as Great Plains and SAP).

Contract Specialist Jobs Eligibility:

  • Education (Degree, Diploma, or Certificate) An accredited postsecondary degree in supply chain management, business administration, commerce, or a related field.
  • An asset is additional specialized training in strategic tendering and contracting.
